I've been stumbling upon some really lovely novels lately. Not necessarily joyous, heartwarming books, but sad, heartful, contemplative ones, so-called "domestic" novels, about life and love and families and flaws. If you're in the mood for the same:
The Center of Winter by Marya Hornbacher
A Wild Ride Up the Cupboards by Ann Bauer
The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards
Torch by Cheryl Strayed
And then if you want to lighten it up, I loved The Brooklyn Follies by Paul Auster and continue to love the obscene sweetness at The Daily Kitten.
